Mobile testing overview

Overview
Section titled “Overview”Klarent tests native mobile apps the same way it tests websites. You describe the test in plain English and the AI agent runs it on a device, step by step, then saves it as a repeatable test.
Android and iOS apps are both supported. Instead of a website URL, you upload your app build (an .apk for Android or an .ipa for iOS). Tests run on cloud-hosted devices, so there is nothing to set up on your side.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- Upload your app to the project.
- Create a test: switch to Mobile App, select the app and write the instructions.
- Watch the test generate. Each step is checked with a screenshot.
- Run the test on demand, on a schedule or in a collection, and review the results.
Devices
Section titled “Devices”Tests run on both real devices and emulators. Real device capacity and limits can be configured to fit your needs, based on your contract.
What you can test
Section titled “What you can test”Klarent covers what mobile tests need, not just tapping through screens, including file system access, the camera, network changes like airplane mode, and device time. See What you can test for examples.
What works like web testing
Section titled “What works like web testing”The rest of Klarent works the same for mobile tests:
- Test data: variables and secrets
- Modules
- Fixing test cases
- Organizing tests
- Collections and scheduling
- Self healing
- Notifications
- Tunneling for apps that use private backends
